Ultimate Ube Ice Cream Recipe

Unique ice cream calls for unique toppings which is why we highly recommend adding cheese and macapuno (coconut sport) instead of the usual chocolate syrup and sprinkles to Cheska’s Premium Ube Ice Cream.
The idea of using cheese might seem odd to some people but it adds a salty and umami flavour that balances the sweetness of the ube ice cream. This paired with the mellow tasting and chewy texture of macapuno will give your ice cream a major upgrade.
To make things even more exciting, we’ll be torching the cheese before adding it on top to give it an extra layer of smokiness that will leave you wanting more.

  • Ready a mound of grated cheddar cheese on your metal spatula. Spread and flatten a bit until it looks like a disc.
  • Scoop your Cheska’s Premium Ube Ice Cream into your cup.
  • Pile your tablespoon of macapuno on top of your ice cream.
  • Torch your grated cheese until it’s slightly melted with a light char and quickly slide it on top of the macapuno with the help of a butter knife.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • To add an extra crunch to your scoop, you can add some crushed otap (oval puff pastry cookie) or barquillos (crispy biscuit roll) to your scoop.
